Day 34. Welcome to New Delhi!

We had two long flights, so for the first, Chris took a sleeping pill and got 6 hours and Bill got 4.  Then from 4-6 AM we stretched out in Kuala Lampur until our 5 hour flight to Delhi left at 10.

Everything was going fine thru customs and bag claim and then we couldn't find the tour guy who was to meet us and take us to our hotel.  Instead, we were found by a real con-artist.  He offered to call our travel service and let me talk to them; I was told there was a traffic problem and get I should get a cab to the hotel where they would meet us.  We did and paid 5 x the cab fare.
Good lesson!

We again called from the hotel and the actual travel service guy met us; we had never spoken to him - it was all a con!  He apologized for being late and for our introduction to India, but then we went over the details of the rest of the trip till we both understood the plan.  We're staying in the hotel tonight and starting fresh tomorrow.

Traffic is as bad as you could imagine!  No one stays in anything resembling a lane of traffic, and there are all sizes of vehicles, bicycles with huge loads, 3 wheeled motorized cabs, push carts, cars, trucks, motor bikes, scooters, and busses all squeezing and cutting in with paper thin margins while talking on cell phones!   I'm sure glad we are being driven everywhere in India!
